That tool is available at http://www.strutpro.com/.  The cost for one 
with proper sized fittings for our boats is $295.  Wish  we had one for 
a loaner..

I've got about 375 hours on the engine.  As I recall from the survey 
there was about 1/8" of play.  I'll check it again and measure more 
carefully if the temps warm up a few degrees - the other day the shaft 
was frozen (!) in the bearing.
