The first rule of owning a boat should be if it ain't broke, don't use it.
I like to shave each morning before exiting the boat (it's an old Navy
thing) and like to do so in hot water.  So our hot water heater gets used on
A/C virtually every weekend.  I am sure that is why my temperature/pressure
valve went belly-up so soon.  I don't think that these Seaward water heaters
were really meant to be used.  If they were intended to be used, one could
not only empty them completely but also be able to rely on a T/P valve
lasting a reasonable amount of time.  After all, hot water heater T/P valves
at home last virtually forever; the tank goes before the valve.

I have not had the problem mentioned on my boat either, 1997, #442.
