Re: sound proofing from www.sailorssolutions.com Yes, I have installed them. I determined the cost to be less than the kit from WM. I think I ordered the 18-tile unit for $149; and, had several left over. SailorSolutions will buy back the unused tiles. In my case, I sold the unused tiles to another boater.
There are no mechanical attachments, no glue, no seam tape. I dry-fit them and mark with a pen. Cut with straight edge and sharp knife or just trace the line with the knife. Used a utility knife with the replaceable snap-off blade. Clean the inside of the engine box with a solvent wash. Remove the adhesive backing paper and apply the tiles pressing well down. Fit successive tiles very close so the hard cover may even overlap a tad. After one season, the tiles are stuck hard.
I can't really offer an objective comparison of the noise reduction; but, am satisfied with the result. Another 320 nearby used the WM solution and I don't think there is a difference in results.
