Re: sound proofing from www.sailorssolutions.com  Yes, I have installed them.  I determined the cost to be less than the kit from WM.  I think I ordered the 18-tile unit for $149; and, had several left over.  SailorSolutions will buy back the unused tiles.  In my case, I sold the unused tiles to another boater.

There are no mechanical attachments, no glue, no seam tape.  I dry-fit them and mark with a pen.  Cut with straight edge and sharp knife or just trace the line with the knife.  Used a utility knife with the replaceable snap-off blade.  Clean the inside of the engine box with a solvent wash.  Remove the adhesive backing paper and apply the tiles pressing well down.  Fit successive tiles very close so the hard cover may even overlap a tad.  After one season, the tiles are stuck hard.

I can't really offer an objective comparison of the noise reduction; but, am satisfied with the result.  Another 320 nearby used the WM solution and I don't think there is a difference in results.
