had to replace mine a couple of years ago and I found a connecter in the wire that I just had to twist apart and the new transducer also had a connecter on it that plugged in where the old one came apart----I'm not sure now exactly where the connector was but I think it was either behind the box that holds the fire ext. under the stove or was in the port stern locker were all the wires are bunched together to go up the pedestal
