With respect to the charcoal filter on the holding tank vent, Peggie
Hall (The Head Mistress) strongly recommends against them. If you ever
get holding tank contents up into the vent filter, you are in deep
doo-doo as it will plug. She recommends Odorlos to keep your tank
aerobic. According to her, (and I have no reason to doubt her), it is
anerobic bacteria that emit the odor that curls your nose hairs. Make
sure that your vent is clean, and provide sufficient oxidizing medium
(either air or Odorlos), and your head wpn't smell.
