Just a quick point, the winch requires 3 to 4 turns, minimum 3 according to the manual

I just got the Marlow and had to wash it to make it even try to grip 
a winch and it is way too abrasive on my hands. The first time we 
used it my wife hollered I can't hold it as it slid around the winch 
with 2 wraps, totally not acceptable. So I am trying some new line 
and will let you know. It is setting by my desk and looks like it 
will be hand friendly compared to the Marlow.
