[C320-list] raising a bosun's chair

Stan,

I may be reading this wrong, but it sounded like you rethreaded the halyard through the turning block at the base of the mast. When I do this, I just spin that block on its attachment to the mast base so that it feeds forward instead of aft. The only rethreading I do is to remove the tail from the sheet stopper and lead it forward.

The time I usually do this is with the jib halyard if I'm bending on the jib in the spring by myself.

Russ,

The main halyard is run down the mast internally. At the bottom of the mast
it passes through a block and continues to the cockpit, By "reversing " the
halyard I mean to direct the main forward to the windlass by reversing the
direction it passes through the block.
