[C320-list] Globe Drivesaver

I am thinking of adding a Globe Drivesaver flexible coupling to my driveshaft. I believe the appropriate model is the 424Y. It will add 1 inch to the effective shaft length, unless I trim 1 inch from one end or the other of the driveshaft. 

For folks who have done this installation, did you trim the driveshaft or just let it be? If the latter, do you notice any increase in vibration with the prop now an additional 1 inch from the cutlass bearing?
