The pushpits are guite a problem. Port one isn't so bad because the cockpit locker allows access to the nuts for the forward base. Starboard forward base cannot be removed w/o major surgery to the boat.
I ran speaker wire to speakers mounted under the "lounge chairs" and ended up pulling the aft srews of the two hole bases, pulling the pushpit as far away from the boat as I could, and drilled thru the 'glass. There are holes for navlight wires port side only so the starboard base had to be drilled as well. Major job on a very hot weekend.

  good luck

Does anyone know off-hand how the pushpits are mounted to the boat?

I want to pull one off to mount a GPS antenna and run the wires
internally. There are just 7 screws, but what do they go into? If into
tapped plates glassed to the hull - great! If into individual nuts,
which then fall off and get lost between the hull and the liner - not great.

Thanks.

[By the bye, I finally have the new SS shaft installed. Solution was
finally to just let the yard do it. Took them about 4 hours to lift the
boat, drop the rudder, and install the shaft.]
