[C320-list] Transmission ratio

Interestingly, it seems to depend... I check or replace mine every
year.

Some people get several years out of an impeller.

One year I went to replace the impeller like I normally do, and it was
near perfect condition. No signs of losing flexibility, so I left it.

On most other years, I've found the impeller material seems more brittle
and started to crack after the season, so I just replaced it in the
spring.

I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't a difference in the materials
they use, because my cruising grounds haven't changed. This could begin
to explain why experiences on this vary so widely... Also, maybe
gritty/silty water plays a role here too.

I change mine every year. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure.

The old one never looks bad but I felt it was safer to change it often.
