[C320-list] Power Washing Sails?

Last weekend a slipholder a few slips down was wahing his sails with a power washer.
He did it on a pretty much no wind day.  He raised ther main a little , washed it, and just kept raising and washing and hitting both sides of the sail.
Has anyone on the list done so?
What precautions did you take to keep from killing the sail?
What type of detergent , if any ,did you use??
