Hi Gary,

The "SEATALK FAIL" message is always
displayed if  there is a poor connection in
the circuit.
There are various connections in the circuit
for the power, GPS, the Fluxgate compass, the
wind, depth and speed log instruments - some of
which [3 IIRC] use the back of the instrument

Navpod supply a special key to undo the anti-theft
screws
