Every organization needs leaders and the Catalina 320 International
Association is no different. We are now accepting volunteers to fill the
positions of 2007 Commodore and Vice Commodore. The term of these
positions runs for twelve months starting October 1. The new officers will be elected at the September meeting/regatta in San Diego and posted in the November
Mainsheet.

So far, Karl Mielenhausen has been gracious enough to step forward to run for our Vice Commodore. Karl has been attempting to orgainze a Carolina fleet this past, year, looked into a brochure for his fleet and also posted and collected some valuable information throughout the year. I also explained to him the "tradition" of the Vice Commodore stepping up to become Commodore and I think he will do a fine job, but he is very new to the C320IA and is not yet ready to assume the helm of our organization, We need, we MUST, have a volunteer from the ranks to assume the Commodore's post, as I will no longer own a C320 by the time the Reggatta is held and our Vice Commodore Warren Updike no longer has enough time to step up to become Commodore.

We have so many members who contribute so much, I can tell you all confidentially it really isn't too much work, AND you get to fly the Commodore's burgee for a year (or so) and then afterward you can fly the Past Commodore's burgee in perpetuity. Also, you get your picture in Mainsheet and get to mouth off about whatever you want in your own quarterly Commodore's message.

Please contact me if you are interested.
