Scott,

Do you know what model year the outboard that you saw was from?
There seems to be a significant difference in both weight and gear ratio 
from 2004 to 2005.. the newer the "better", and I agree that 55 lbs is 
great for a 6hp outboard..   6hp would be enough to get my small 240 
dinghy to take flight!
