You must have had the mast down to use bolts.  (?)

Paul:  Although the 10-18 pole is long enough to use with the C-320
with a 135% genoa (According to PHRF, a whisker pole can't be any
longer than 12' 4" (the J dimension of our boats), the 12-22 is
stronger and will probably give you a better service life.

When I installed the track on the Alchemist, I only used a 1 1/4" x 4'
track, used flat head machine screws for the center holes and used hex
head bolts for the top and bottom. AS I recall, the bolts / machine
screws were 5/16" x 1 (or 3/4).  To guarantee that everything lined up,
I only drilled and tapped the top hole.  Once I had done that, I
installed the track and used it as a template to drill and tap the
bottom hole.  Once that bolt was installed, the remainder of the holes
were dead easy to get perfectly alligned. with my tightly bolted on
template.
