Had a great time Saturday evening.

Hope the rest of the trip goes well.  We packed up early this morning as it
looked like rain all day.

By the way -  Are you missing a cantaloupe ?  Guess what I found in the back
of the Jeep.  I'll let you know how it tastes !!!

Rod - If you were on the Bay when the Volvo guys went down the Bay, that is
the way they did it.  The were flying spinnakers and gybing back and forth
down the eastern side of the Bay, versus going dead downwind.  

Since I don't have a spinnaker and the main blankets the genoa on a 165
course, I do use the pole, tie down the boom, and go dead down wind.  Coming
up the Bay this earlier this week with the pole out, were were making 7.4
knots from the Bridge to the Patapsco.  There is no way I could achieve
those speeds broad reaching without a pole or spinnaker.  The day before, a
J35 went by us with a  spinnaker flying off of a retractable bowsprit.
Within 10 minutes of passing us, he was at least 1/2 mile away.  That was
pretty impressive to watch.

Look for us Sunday afternoon in Swan Creek.  We are on the Sassafras now and
hope to get to where you are sometime Sunday.  We had a great visit with
Paul and Deb Weikel last evening who u nfortunately won't be joining us in
San Diego this year as Deb is back in school.
