Bill,
I mounted my RAM mic on the instrument housing and was able to snake it in 
with the engine wiring tube as my pedestal tube are both full of instrument 
wires.  I did need to buy an extension to get from the radio at the nav. 
station panel to this location.  I know that several guys have mounted the 
plug inside the LP locker which would in all likely hood eliminate the need 
for the extension.  I'm not sure how this works out as far as keeping the 
mic out of the way when using the stern rail seat or working lines on the 
port side.
