Why are you running the blowers? Cooling down the engine compartment after a
run or what?

I've grown tired of having to have the engine ignition switch ON in order to
run the engine compartment blower. For one thing, as long as the ignition
switch is ON, the hourmeter is running, even if the engine is not!!

I made a quick modification by hooking the blower toggle switch to the 12vDC
feed to the ignition switch. I added a fuse just to be on the safe side and
left the original pigtail (purple wire) in place in case I wanted to revert
to the old wiring arrangement. (The new wire is red with the yellow fuse
holder).

Two more tips:

1/ while you're in the instrument pod, take the opportunity to tighten the
mounting nut for the ignition switch.. it frequently is loose.

2/ before reassembly, coat the gasket with some grease (I used red lithium)
to improve flexibility and moisture resistance.
