Ahhh, ok, that's how it's done....I would be afraid that the boat would
run off once the prop started turning...  :)

With the optical tach, you put a piece of reflective tape on the flywheel
and point the beam ; it reads the rpms as the flywheel spins---so don't
jump
in the water.
