I have all the same symptoms and upon disassembly I too was not impressed.
It is interesting that I have a much lower hull number.

Subject: [C320-list] Leaking Around Companionway Hatch

I had a leak from the area under the seahood into the margin around the
opening of the main companionway dripping onto floor of galley. The seahood
was removed by the local marina and there was evidence of a sloppy repair
with cracks in the recess where the hatch slides. The gelcoat was rough as
well likely causing the noise and excessive friction sliding the hatch.
This was a brand new boat from the factory but the repairman could not
believe this was Catalina quality work. Has anyone else experienced this?
Maybe this accounts for all the threads where the hatch makes excessive
noise. Perhaps the mold had a defect in this area.
