Thanks to Dick Walker and everyone involved for a super Regatta in San
Diego.  Norma and I arrived in San Diego early and made the trip into a
vacation.  We enjoyed the sights of the area including touring the USS
Midway, Point Loma, the San Diego zoo, many other sights and some great
restaurants before arriving at the Meeting/Regatta on Friday.  The Glorietta
Bay Inn was a terrific location for lodging and meeting members at poolside
and the Coronado Yacht Club and surrounding Bay was a perfect location for
the weekend. 

Thanks to Bruce Heyman and Jim Harris for the hospitality on your 320's for
the racing and sailing events.  We had a great time!  

Congratulations to our new officers - Commodore Mike LaChance, Vice
Commodore Karl Mielenhausen, Chief Measurer Len Krane - and thanks to the
continuing officers - Rod Boer, Jeff Hare and Pat Reynolds - for staying on
for another year.  Mike, (you may remember Norma and I crewed on your boat
at the Newport Regatta), I'm sure Russ Monaco will be more than willing to
mentor you into your new role but please don't hesitate to let me know if I
can be of any help (Russ will be busy sailing around on that new 387
anyway).   

Lastly, thanks Russ Monaco for a great year as Commodore, a guy couldn't ask
for a better successor.  Your enthusiasm and dedication was spot on all year
and you can be proud of the job you did.   

We're already looking forward to next year and can't wait to hear the
location and date so we can start planning - Florida? South Carolina?
Annapolis? Washington? San Francisco?
