Well, if you live on the East Coast of the United States then Valencia is closer to you then San Francisco.  Since a Regatta held in Oz would have to be in the winter the airfare would be cheaper from the West Coast then it is to fly in September to the East Coast.  Did you really think that I had not thought this thing through?
