A couple of years ago Practical Sailor ran a test on sail track lube. 
The winner was a purpose made concoction, but the best buy was "Elmer's 
Slide All". This was found to be not quite as immediately effective as 
the best performer, but maintained its level of performance long after 
the better product needed reapplication. And it's cheap.

I''ve used it both for the sail track and for anything else around the 
boat requiring mechanical lubrication like the main hatch.
