[C320-list] Engine hoses & exhaust elbow

Jon: The hose to the exhaust elbow is a raw water hose. It's coming
from the heat exchanger. The apparent excursion to the galley is
actually to the port side cockpit locker where it has a vented loop
before coming back down into exhaust elbow. That's to keep a siphon
from developing through the raw water system into your muffler, which
could back up and flood the engine itself through the exhaust.
The hoses to the hot water heater are part of the closed loop running
engine coolant. I have not replaced either set of hoses.

After removing the hose to the muffler, I've got to believe that the vibration along with the stiffness of the hose contributes to the premature failures of the mufflers. I was very concerned about breaking off the hose inlet on the muffler while removing that hose. I am considering putting a Trident hump connector in to alleviate this potential problem. Has anyone done this?
