[C320-list] Frustrated with Dutchman System

Doug ,my boat #421 is about the same vintage as yours--after 10 yrs I threw  the Dutchman out and to make sure I could never put it back I've had the mainsail neatly patched where the holes were.
 My sail maker is delighted he has been onto me for years to get rid of it and except for Catalinas I've never seen the system on any other boat in Australia although lazy jacks are common on cruising boats here. All the hassles we had for years have gone .When lowering the sail we throw some elasticated shock cord straps around it
