Adam, simple is best. But, no one has mentioned the tack line yet though.
I run my tack line aft through blocks that attach to the stanchions to a
block with a cam cleat. This allows me to adjust the height of the tack
from the cockpit, and not have to go forward. If I need additional
purchase power I rap it around the primary winch, or to the cabin top
winch if the primary is occupied by the sheets.

I just attach mine to the dock line cleats via snap shackle.  It is too
simple, straightforward, easy and cheap to be of interest to most
sailors, but it works.

Being very new at this I was wondering what additional
hardware was necessary to control the sheets of an
assymetrical and what is the ideal placement of the
extra rigging. I would guess that blocks aft would be
necessary but wonder where they would best be attached
and how. Does it depent on the size and shape of the
sail for (example a code 1 versus a larger variety).
