[C320-list] Cutlass/Shaft/Engine Alienment

Is the strut good and solid? On the older boats like ours I have heard about 
the strut coming loose, which requires that it be cut out and "rebedded" 
(for lack of a better word).

I suppose if the strut was loose there would be wear on the cutlass bearing.
