Well, your ex-Commodore continues to un-cover things that relate to his beloved and now gone C320 #621. Does anyone have a use for the Yanmar manual that came with the boat (but obviously didn't go with it)? Please let me know off line.

Irv, seems to me about 40' seems right which is likely why the Dutchman people sell it in 80' spools.

I broke a couple stripper rings so far. I bought new ones at Performance
Yacht Systems (Pyacht), Annapolis MD. I don't have the phone no. handy but
you can go to their web site.

Description: STRIPPER RING 44ST
Item no. LEW45000308

Cost is around $20 plus shipping

Good Luck

When I purchased replacement line from Dutchman, they sold me the 500# test (2.5mm) not the 400# test (2.0mm). The job took about 50 feet as I recall. I thought at the time, that the replacement line was thicker than what I was removing, but it seems to work just as well.

I believe I remember being told by the Dutchman rep. at the Annapolis Boat show 2005, that the line is 400lb test monofilament nylon line. I found a 300' spool at https://www.fishermansoutfitter.com/default.aspx for $26 incl. shipping. If you live in a area where ocean fishing is popular you should be able to find it locally.Warren & Pattie UpdikeC320, #62, 1994, "Warr De Mar"Frog Mortar Creek, Middle RiverChesapeake Bay

When I did a new main 18 months ago I listened to the sail maker and
rigger and installed lazy jacks from Harken. Terrible system. Stick
with the Dutchman.

RE: Dutchman vs Lazy Jack

We have Hull # 890 and are not happy with the performance of our
Dutchman.
Even though we have adjusted it several times it does not fold
properly.
Also for safety purposes I would like to not have to go forward to
fasten the
sail ties. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you don't go sailing nothing ever happens. If you are out there a
lot,
stuff happens. If you never fly your spinnaker, you'll never get a
spinnaker
wrap, or find yourself suddenly overpowered, when only a moment earlier
you
were enjoying great downwind run. On my Newport 28 years ago, I blew out
the
foot and part way up the luff, of my mainsail. I should have reduced
sail,
but I was making great head way beating into a 35 kt breeze. We were on
the
edge but having fun. Not so much fun when we had to motor 20miles after
the
main blew out, but so it goes.

Its all good, as long we come out safe and sound.
