Folks,

Take it from someone who did raise his hand and held the 2004 event in
Marina del Rey.....it is not that hard to do this...2-4 folks can put on
this event with no problem....it's embarrassing that at this late date a
'survey' is being held to see where to have it, never mind actually having
folks sign up by now...

Having it in conjunction with the East Coast Catalina Rendezvous, dilutes
this event big time--see 2005--this needs to be a stand-alone event!

The Chesapeake Bay is a marvelous resource; and, there are quite a number of
C320s all along the Bay. However, Solomons is more than one day cruise from
the area North of Annapolis. There are many marinas in the Annapolis area
not to mention the many fine restaurants, accomodations, and the Naval
Acadamy. Annapolis would be more centralized for boats coming from both
North and South of Annapolis. There are moorings in the Annapolis harbor
served by a water taxi. In fact, the water taxi serves a number of the
local marinas or the marinas have their own water taxi.

I'm not, as yet raising my hand; but, I feel somewhat guilty that, as Vice
Commodore, I contributed nothing as Dick Walker already had the event well
planned as I signed up. So, having said that, I would consider
participating on an effort to hold the '08 Regatta in Annapolis with the
expectation of having the assistance of one or two other members.
