[C320-list] Hull paint quantity?

Hi Wes,

It totally depends on the kind of paint you use. Some paints have to be
splashed within a period of time, and others aren't affected. I use
ablative paint that typically isn't affected by our 7mos out of the water
each year.

When Spring Fever was hauled and painted I discussed painting with the folks
at the yard just for fun. They indicated that if the boat was hauled again
after painting and was out of the water for several days it would have to be
repainted. Something to do with drying I think. Then again my memory may be
as cloudy as...Oh I forget.

Interlux is now recommending one color followed by a different color.
Only
repaint where the first coat starts to show through. I have one coat of
green on the bottom, 3 coats of blue on the top. As for longevity, much
depends on how much you use the boat.

Hmm...I had the yard paint our boat with Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote ACT
just prior to launch (June 1 st) last year.  I suspect they did one coat;
most yards do. There's no wear at the leading edges that I can see; the
paint stops cleanly just below the waterline stripe all around. Is it
possible I don't need to paint this year? I thought it was common to paint
every year.
