One of the boat's we went to ME with last summer spent 7 seasons mooring their boat here. It's a good central point with facilities and a great jumping off point, or even central base for  Casco. Avoid Portland if you can...The mooring options are very exposed unless you get a slip at Demillos.

End of July/beginning of August is the best time to go in my opinion. We went during this time last summer and experienced: 1 evening of rain and Zero days of fog!! I know that is probably a once in a lifetime event, but it was welcome weather.....
