Joe,

I don't have firsthand experience to offer, but alignment is covered in pages 46-48 of the manual....

Subject: [C320-list] Shaft Alignment

I have been thru two Cutlass bearings on my 2001 C320 and now gettingvibration that makes it seem like I need a new one installed. My question ishow do you go about aligning the shaft properly. I have never done it beforeon my C320 or my O'Day 272 I owned before. Do you use a feeler gauge? If sowhat is the dimension for proper alignment. How do you do it??? Any helpappreciated.Joe Barrett------------------------------------Dolphin CommercialJoseph T. I got a new one when replacing my fuel tank last yearand I'm keeping the old one as a spare. I don't really rely on my guage--Isimply keep track of how much fuel I use and match against engine hours.Over the course of several years, I know what I burn per hour prettyaccurately (.4 gal/hour--I have an autoprop). I typically run at about2200-2300 RPM's which is
around 6 kts. boat speed for me. I know I don't runthe engine at the RPM's I should be, but this is where the engine feels mostcomfortable...Also, the tank is 19 gallons, so you want to factor that in when calculatinggallons per hour....Regards,Jon Vez-------------- Original message --------------From: mike hunter <popotladreaming at yahoo.com>> How many of you have operational fuel gauges?
