Any heavy paste diaper rash ointment containing zinc oxide will work
and can be re-applied under water peridically as it wears off.

Try...Boudreaux's Butt Paste (no joke).

Paint will wear off a prop almost as fast as these ointments, but you
can't reapply under water.

Beyond that, the only thing really effective would be to take off the
prop after every use (yes, a joke).
