On 'AROBAN' I noticed that the screw kept coming loose and seemed rather small for its intended purpose. We addressed this problem by tapping a larger hole and using a larger machine screw. No problem for the 8 years I owned the boat.

  Len,

When I bought Silver Lining, I noticed that the phillips head machine screw, that I believe you are referring to, was loose and badly bent. I suspect the PO tried to horse the lever out of gear after sailing a few too many times. I have since learned that it is OK to start the engine in gear and then shift to neutral (idle rpms of course). I replaced both machine screws with hex head bolts. Beware, they are fine threads.

Anyone have experience or heard of the shift lever shearing the pin so youcan't shift forward-neutral-reverse?? Happened on my boat with someone elseat the helm. Called vessel assist, was towed in, new getting fixed. Haveno experience with this.Len KraneAQUA5 #1070
