[C320-list] Sound Reducing Paint Reports?

My experience is that you need 'dead air' spaces to achieve insulation,
which leads to isolation, particularly in the case of noise. Paint
won't cut it, although it may make the engine cover heavier, resulting
in reduced vibration of the cover.

I chose the SailorSolutions tiles. While they don't provide the 'up to
90 percent' noise reduction ('up to' is the disclaimer), my wife
(unbiased witness) says that the engine noise has decreased to near
half what it was. I just know it's quieter. I might have saved money
by purchasing similar tile backed foam insulation at reduced price
elsewhere, but didn't see anything similar at Home Desperate or Lowser
that qualified. Hey, it's a diesel. I'd like to witness these quieter
Perkins that I've heard about.
