Karl - Do you still have Gerry's e-mail re: keel bolt torque specifications?
When I bought a new computer in December, I lost what he sent to us.
Perhaps if you still have it you can post it here for Jeff. - Allan

Allan
Gerry usually monitors these mail lists so if he disagreed with you I
suspect we'd have heard from him. I'm going to email him about checking the
torque on my 387 as part of the initial commissioning, so I'll ask about the
320 again just to make sure.

Jeff - My source for the keel bolt torque setting is none other than Gerry
Douglas. At the factory tour a few years ago, he misspoke when he said
something else. Karl questioned him later and then I followed up with
him,
reminding him that he had said something else at the tour. He clarified
that he was speaking about a different boat. One of our members has used
the 235 setting and while a challenge, was able to get it torqued to 235.

Allan,
Just off the top, I thought the proper torque was something like 105 foot
pounds. If that is the case, 235 pounds might tear the bolts right out of
the keel. You might want to check your source.

Warren - The proper torque for the keel bolts is 235 foot pounds. The
boat
must be out of the water with at least 70% of its weight supported by
the
keel. The Association has the torque wrench, socket and extension bars
as
part of the loaner program.

What is the proper torque for the keel bolts?
