[C320-list] Exhaust mixing elbow

Now that everyone is back from the rendezvous, a quick question. My yanmar manual recommends checking the exhaust mixing elbow annually. Can anyone give me some guidance on this? What/where is the exhaust mixing elbow, and once duly identified, how does one check it? I have the YM30.
