Ruth and Sam;.
My cylinders have been quite loose since I bought the boat in 2003. I try
to remember to open them up and spary water inside when ever I wash the boat
down. I am surpised your rigger was not able to get them to move. While I
am not at the boat now my recolection of the cylinder is that the top and
bottom are simple pressure fit into the body. I would think a little
persuasion with a block of wood and a mallet would get the parts to
seperate.
I will take a look at them when I get back up to the boat, hopefully on
Thursday evening.
Best regards;

Subject: [C320-list] Stainless cylinders covering bronze shroud turnbuckles
I have a 94 Hull 320 #74--RUTHSM. Since I bought the boat a year and a
half ago I have been attempting to loosen the stainless cylinders over the
bronze turnbuckles on the shrouds so I can check the turnbuckles and tune
the shrouds. I have consulted two different riggers, tried liquid wrench,
talked to Catalina, so far to no avail.
Now I'm going to the big brains out there. Has anyone else encountered this
problem? And more important, has any one solved it? and if so how?
Thanks
Sam and Ruthie Wagner
