[C320-list] Xantrex shore charger

Kirk,

Since the wire runs to the shunt are short in distance, 4 is fine. I
actually bought the pre-swaged 4AWG with the gold coated eyes at WM. I think
I bought the 12 inch lengths. As far as the monitoring since it is the
single battery monitor and the shunt only *sees* the house bank (mine is set
up like yours--2 4D's wired together for a single house) and that is the
only one I care about monitoring since my starter is always full. I also use
a battery combiner so that I can charge both the house and starter while
motoring from the single alternator feed while the battery selector is set
to my starting battery...

Regards,

Jon

Jon yes this helps. I saw the drawing for your boat that I believe Jeff did
for you.

I'll get a block and mount it by the batteries as you did, this would allow
me to connect all the negative loads to that block, then to the shunt, then
out of the shunt to the negative battery post. What size wire did you use to

connect the shunt to the battery and the new terminal block.? The negative
load cables on Boomerang are all #4 wire. Would this be big enough to
connect the shunt?

I am thinking based on what you said about the L10 not seeing the starting
battery when switched to position #2 must be the fact that the shunt does
not pick up the load from the start battery, I guess because its wired only
to the house bank.

Thanks Again

Kirk

#124
