Myron,

FYI, the positive wire from the battery switch to the engine (starter 
solenoid) is 1/0 on my boat (#882). The negative from the battery to the 
engine block is also 1/0. (The means "single 0 gauge" I believe). That's 
also what it says in the "official" wiring diagram.
