Warren, Perhaps your difficulty with the hand crank could be eliminated with the device I devised: I modified a 120 V drill to adapt to the crank shaft and allowed my spouse to go down below and engage the sprocket when I shouted "let'ur rip"--not very professional--but it works. P.S. The inverter smokes a bit---but so far no problem.
