It is normal for the solenoid to heat up when on. I have been told that leaving it on for long periods will lead to premature failure. On boats I have chartered they make a point of this. Jim Brown

install checking for leaks, I noticed that the electric valve was very hot.
Is this normal or is this a sign of it going bad or maybe something worse?

Heat, propane and a confined space makes me nervous.....

Thanks in advance,
