Do you have Link battery monitor? I'm just curious as to how many amp-hours
you can pull before you need to charge?

I have a group 27 starting battery, but I want to maximize house amp-hours
.... at a reasonable price.

Thanks

Kirk,

I bought two AGM 4Ds from West Marine 6 months ago. They are about twice the

cost of flooded batteries ($450 each I think), but I did it to eliminate the

need for maintenance. I also connected them in parallel as battery #1 and
bought a group 27 AGM as a starting battery, another pricey option. Using
the 4Ds in parallel reduces the depth of discharge (in half) which should
make them last longer.

Hello list

I'm thinking I need new batteries, after 5 seasons, mostly with an older
charger, i can only get about 50 Ahrs out of the set of 2 x 4D's in
parallel. This is good for 3 days on the hook, with 30 minutes of engine
time to make hot water and charge etc.

I have the Xantrex now with a Link 10 monitor so I have a good idea on how
the batteries charge and also how they deliver Amp-hours etc.

What has the been the experience of those who have purchased new batteries
recently? Prices etc. I'll probably go with wet Lead-Acid again.
