John ..... I don't use a water pump delay to start the 12k Mermaid A/C on my boat. However, if you have the Mermaid 16k A/C, I believe there's an adjustment you make inside the black control box that's part of the A/C unit. This can be confirmed by contacting the tech guys at Mermaid by phone or email.
