Dave - Good question and I do have the answer. I removed the bail and made a
tracing of it on a piece of paper. I sent the tracing to Garhauer and about a
week later received an over-sized bail that as a perfect fit and cost - if
memory serves me correctly - less than $25. Obviously, the new bail needs to be
high enough for the knuckle of the CQR to clear when hoisting. If you are
coming to Rendezvous (shameless plug) you will see it there!

Have you modified your bow roller. I have a 25lb CQR that really does a
great job holding with 30 ft of chain and 200 ft of rope rode. I do have problem
working the CQR through the bow roller.

Yes Bruce, you read that right. The 35-pound CQR is a monster in itself.
The mizzen on the Cheoy Lee ketch really made a difference for keeping the
raft pointed into the wind all night with absolutely no swinging. We have a
Banner Bay riding sail for Sea Shadow but did not need to deploy it. - Allan

Hi Allan
wow ... did I read that correctly... Sea Shadow and her 35lb held with those
2 monsters rafted up ... your 1 anchor/chain did the job!
now that gives me confidence!
Cheers
enjoy the 2008 C320IA Meeting and Regatta ... it is sounding better by the
day ;)
