[C320-list] Chartering in the Carribean

I agree with the others, the BVI is a great place to charter. I also go with
Moorings; they are a large company so they have good support in place (any
problems and they can usually get it fixed fast). They are a bit more
expensive but you can sometimes get a boat that is a little older (3-5
years) at a better rate. One note: if this is your first time in the BVI
they might not let you go to Anegada (it is the only island in the group
that you can't physically see from the other islands).

If you go, I highly recommend flying into St. Thomas and then taking the
ferry to Tortola. Flying into Tortola is considered an international flight
(and all the fun that entails). Also you will have an easier time coming
back through customs in the USVI (and your duty-free allowance on purchases
is much higher). A side note: the currency in the BVI is the US dollar.

Now you've got me thinking about going back!

This is a non C320 topic, hopefully its alright with people.

We are planning a charter maybe to the BVI or USVI. I know some of you have
chartered in the Carribean and I'm looking for general input from those of
you who have. There will be 6 of us and I'm thinking a 40 something
catamaran would work well.

What charter companies have people used, any bad/good experiences with the
charter companies. Any input on good locations etc.
