[C320-list] Chartering in the Carribean

Hi,

If the Moorings is slightly over your budget, Footloose is right next door.
After a couple years in the moorings fleet, the boats go over to the
Footloose fleet. ...but there are many good and some bad charter companies
down there.

You should contact http://www.ed-hamilton.com/ yacht charter agent. They're
a state-side (Maine) company who will take care of managing all the
logistics of a Carribean yacht charter trip for you and your crowd. There's
*zero* cost to you, and they frequently can get you a better price on
whatever you're after. They take care of handling all the paperwork and
mail packets to you and everyone in your party letting you know the status
on payments, and any changes that may occur. (like flight changes, or a
boat substitution, whatever).

They have people down there who know and can check into the actual boats and
companies you want to chartering and make suggestions based on what you
want. They don't work for any particular outfit, but rather with all of
them, so you can still be chartering through any outfit you want. If you
have a problem, be it with flights, the boat, services, provisioning, or
anything related to the trip, you have one point of contact who will take
care of it. I can't say enough good things about them.

The Rhone is also a great Night Dive for those who like seeing a whole
different set of sea creatures in action!

We've chartered twice with the Moorings in the BVI and had good experiences
both times. Nice base, well organized, very effecient. Boats seemed well
maintained. Sailing in the BVI is fun - everything is close by. Their
provisioning is excellent.

Favorites spots include White Beach, Jost Van Dyke, Cooper Island (if you
have divers - the RMS Rhone is an excellent dive and the dive operations
will pick you up at Cooper), Leverick Bay on Virgin Gorda also very nice.

Also, have chartered with the Moorings in St. Martin. Good experience
there, as well.
