[C320-list] Refinishing the cabin sole

Sorry for the silly question but I was just wondering how lightly is lightly 
sand?  I haven't had a lot of experience with applying finishes so I was 
just wondering what you are looking for or how it feels to the touch to know 
if you have sanded enough or too much?
