I have the same arrangement as you describe. I attach it to the back stay
with 2 small small lengths of line that are fixed to the pole. The pole is
in the sleave along the back edge of the awning. By wrapping the line around
each backstay several times then using a single half hitch to finish it, the
awning stays tight. To finally snug it down, pull down on the attachment
points, since the backstay angles away, the awning tightens nicely and hold
up agains a good breeze. We often motor with it up, but don't sail with it,
it just gets in the way under sail.

Subject: [C320-list] Bimini / awning

My bimini is only used for shade when at anchor. It attaches to the dodger
with twist studs and then to the backstay. There is only one pole that fits
in a sleeve along the aft end near the backstay. There are two closed loops
of webbing to use to attach to the backstay. Any ideas on the best way to
attach to the backstay? I want to be able to put it up and take it down
fairly easily and I don't want to leave it rolled up on the backstay.

Thanks,
Mike
