[C320-list] Best way to quickly clean the hull?

If you haven't compounded in a few years, I would suggest a little more
'karate kid' this season to get the hull clean. Once you do this, subsequent
applications of wax should be quick and you won't have to continue using an
aggressive compound which will eventually remove your gelcoat. I waxed my
entire hull in just over three hours (including cleaning it) this season.

I would suggest using a compound that is as mild as will get the hull clean
and mar free. If you don't do this, then all you will be doing is covering
the dirt with the wax.

For mild oxidation--3M FinesseIt
For medium to heavy--any compound that does not contain wax or
silicone--again 3M products work well

For the wax, I strongly recommend Collinite 885 *paste* wax. What's unique
about it is that you apply it and remove immediately without waiting for it
to dry which speeds things up quite a bit. It is perennially Practical
Sailor's (and the powerboat sister publication) top pick. My hull looks
literally new after 9 seasons--I swear by this stuff...I've never had much
luck with wax/cleaners as they don't seem to do either very well in my
experience...

Good luck

It's been a few years since I have used compound and/or wax on the hull of
Amore, #139. We've moved from fresh to salt water and low to high
humidity....currently on Galveston Bay (in Kemah Marina for the locals)....

What is the current technology and or personal experience for a two part
cleaning, compound then wax? There are quite a few qimmicky things out
there, I just don't want to choose the wrong one....

Also, is there a product that prevents green mold from growing on the east
side of my boat (other than turning it around in the slip)....

Please send recommendations taking into account I would like to spend no
more than 8 hours playing Karate Kid....wax on, wax off.....

thanks in advance,

Chris & Corey
